Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
